Beat Assistant Pro
A DaVinci Resolve scripting tool that detects the beat in a music track and drops sync markers straight onto the timeline.
Problem
Placeholder copy — cutting to music meant scrubbing through a track by ear, dropping markers one at a time, and eyeballing tempo shifts to keep edits landing on the beat. It was slow, and a change to the music mix meant redoing the marker pass from the top.
Solution
Placeholder copy — Beat Assistant Pro is a Lua script built against DaVinci Resolve's scripting API. It analyzes the audio on a selected timeline track, detects beat and tempo changes, and writes sync markers directly onto the timeline in Resolve — ready to cut to without leaving the app.
Outcome
Placeholder copy — beat-mapping a track went from a manual pass to a one-click step, freeing up time for the actual creative cutting. Music-driven edits, especially music videos and highlight reels, moved noticeably faster from rough cut to picture lock.
